It was a little on the chilly side outside, but our NRA FIRST Steps Pistol course on October 17th was a great time and was enjoyed by participants and instructors alike. Thanks to those who attended and help us run this course.

Congratulations to those individuals who made the commitment and demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and attitude to become NRA Certified Instructors this year. We had individuals successfully complete the NRA Certified Instructor courses in Pistol, Shotgun, and Rifle this year as well as a group successfully completing the NRA Range Safety Officer course. Thank you to those individuals for making the commitment to share their knowledge and earn their certifications!

Our NRA Shooting Sports Camp For Women on September 12th was filled to capacity and all the participants told us they had a great time. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event possible! Due to the huge demand for this program, we are looking at offering it twice in 2010. We hope to get some photos posted from the event in our Photo Albums section in the future.

Our NRA Youth SportsFest on August 8th may have seen a little bit of rain during the day, but that didn't stop the participants from getting to learn about our American Heritage and getting to spend plenty of time trying out the different shooting sports. Photos have been posted to the Photo Albums section of the website from this year's Youth SportsFest. Thanks again to all the volunteers - and special recognitiion to our friends from DA Schuetzen Club who set up and helped staff our air rifle range again this year! All of you make this special event possible!

The USMC/NRA Basic Rifle Fundamentals Camp, which was first started at Heritage Shooting, was featured in Traditions magazine (4th Quarter 2008 issue). The article appears on pages 24-25. This program is growing statewide. We are very proud of our role in getting this program running and even more pleased to see other organizations and clubs around the state conducting similar events at their facilities.

This program was run in Beloit, La Crosse, and Wausau are in mid June of this year. It will be hosted at the Sheboygan Rifle and Pistol Club for 4 more days in August. We want to thank everyone involved for keeping up the great work!

Are you interested in volunteering at a Heritage Shooting Event?

We always need additional volunteers! Even if you are not currently an instructor, we can use your help! If you believe in the importance of the Second Amendment, have the desire to help more people learn about and experience their Second Amendment rights, and are willing to volunteer some time, we want you! We are actively committed to training our volunteers as well as the general public. Contact us if you can help.
